Bond Turner Takes on 100K in June for Day One Trauma Support

At Bond Turner, we are proud to have supported Day One Trauma Support by taking part in the 100K in June Challenge, which has raised awareness and vital funds for people affected by major trauma.

Inspired by Our Clients’ Strength

As catastrophic injury specialists, we work closely with individuals who have experienced life-changing injuries. We see first-hand the remarkable courage it takes to rebuild after suffering a serious injury and the profound difference Day One Trauma Support makes in that journey.

Inspired by our clients and the incredible work, Day One does to support them physically and emotionally, we felt compelled to get involved in this important challenge.

Meet Lucie – A Voice for Day One

Our client Lucie, represented by solicitor James Tomlinson, is a passionate advocate for Day One Trauma. After suffering devastating injuries in a collision with a tractor, Lucie spent 18 months in hospital. From the very beginning, Day One was there, offering practical help and emotional support at the most difficult time of her life.

Lucie’s strength and resilience are a powerful example of how Day One empowers survivors to reclaim their lives. Her journey has inspired many of us to step up and support the charity in any way we can.

Over 3,400 Kilometres Clocked Up

Throughout June, our team embraced the 100K challenge with energy and enthusiasm, walking at lunchtime, running after work, cycling, and even continuing the effort during holidays (with the help of our mascot bears!).

Together, we’ve logged over 3,489km, topping the team leaderboard. It’s been heartening to see colleagues coming together, determined to make a difference.

Over £9,000 Donated

This challenge was about more than just the distance covered. Colleagues, clients, family and friends have all rallied behind us, helping to spread awareness and raise money. We are proud to have raised £3,568* (and counting!) to support Day One Trauma Support.

Bond Turner have generously matched the donation raised by staff, which will go a long way in supporting victims of catastrophic injury through the incredible work provided by Day One.

Lisa Birchall, Training Coordinator at Bond Turner, also organised a fantastic raffle for colleagues, raising an additional £268.00. Five lucky winners received a range of beautifully presented hampers filled with yummy goodies.

Our Credit Hire division, DAMS, also raised a fantastic £1,488 with a total of 1,635 kms. Passionate cyclist and McAMS driver Chris Dixon raised £1,190 and covered 1,237 kms, including a 750 km ride through the Arctic Circle – from Rovaniemi to Nordkapp, the northernmost point on mainland Europe.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has kindly donated. Your support will help Day One continue its vital work with people rebuilding their lives after trauma.

Fundraising Bears on Tour

To keep spirits high, we introduced a team of cheerleading mascot bears—Bella and Bertie, who accompanied us throughout the challenge. The bears enjoyed lunchtime trips to Liverpool landmarks, sunny breaks in Ibiza, Majorca, and Rhodes, and even joined our Director of Serious Injury, James Tomlinson, for a scenic walk along the Northumberland Coast. They also spent a day at Crosby Beach with Chantal Rabbetts, Director of Serious Injury, and her family.

Not only did we receive encouragement from our fundraising bears, but our family pets also enjoyed helping us in the challenge, including our solicitor, Lucie’s dog, Willow.

Capturing Our Why

We were delighted to welcome D’Arcy and Callum from Day One for a morning of filming. Several colleagues shared their stories on camera, explaining their reasons for taking part, how they are achieving their target kilometres, and how the charity’s work has personally resonated with them.

Every Step Counts

To everyone who has supported us—thank you. Your kindness and generosity have kept us going. We’re committed to continuing our efforts and seeing how far we can go for this incredible cause.
