Alum joined Bond Turner in March 2016, specialising in a variety of liability-disputed road traffic accident matters, particularly those involving credit hire and complicated issues of causation. Over the years, he has developed his expertise in litigation and has become a key figure in the credit-hire dispute team.
Career journey
Alum’s professional path has taken him through several law firms across the North West, all the while strengthening his litigation credentials. He gravitated to Bond Turner because of the firm’s reputation for robust courtroom advocacy and its leadership in credit-hire matters. As his role evolved, he began focusing more on training and developing the people at Bond Turner, supporting and mentoring staff at all levels.
A major milestone came in March 2025, when Alum was promoted to Training Principal. In this capacity, he works closely with our Training Co-Ordinator and directors, overseeing the Anexo Academy, guiding trainees and junior solicitors, and helping shape their future careers.
What motivates him
Alum is deeply committed to learning and professional development. He finds tremendous satisfaction in seeing colleagues grow delivering litigation updates, sharing best practices, and supervising the next generation of legal talent. He believes that investing in people not only helps the individual, but it also enriches the whole firm.
Colleagues describe him as personable, ambitious and dedicated. He thrives on collaboration, responsible decision-making, and continuous improvement. For Alum, success means helping both clients and colleagues achieve positive outcomes — and by doing that, he is constantly growing himself.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to work closely with our talented staff, training co-ordinator, and directors to further develop the Anexo Academy.”
Outside the office
When he’s not at work, Alum is a keen runner and has completed charity marathons. He also serves as a Judge and Chair of the Valuation Tribunal for England, adjudicating property appeals. Academically, he contributes as a course instructor: he has taught Civil Litigation at Liverpool John Moore’s University.
In the wider professional community, he is involved as the Vice President of the Liverpool Law Society, a role that reflects his commitment to legal leadership and service.
