WordPress Developer – Themes & Plugins
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £Competitive
Contract Type: Perm
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 – 1 hour lunch. (35 hours per week)
(Whilst the basic hours are as detailed above, the role will require work to be completed outside of these hours when necessary.)
We are currently recruiting for a WordPress Developer to join our fantastic Marketing team in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the work they do, the service they provide to the business and providing our clients with an efficient and excellent level of service.
We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our Marketing team. In this role, you’ll take the lead on crafting, enhancing, and upholding the integrity of our group’s pivotal websites. Your expertise in WordPress development will be key to driving our digital presence forward.
Responsibilities to include:
- Customise and refine WordPress themes and plugins, strictly avoiding the use of “no-code” solutions.
- Apply responsive design techniques to ensure our websites are accessible and engaging on mobile devices.
- Enhance site performance to meet Google Core Web Vitals standards for speed and efficiency.
- Perform thorough testing and debugging across various browsers and devices to guarantee seamless user experiences.
- Work collaboratively with our team to integrate diverse third-party APIs and digital services.
- Keep abreast of the latest WordPress trends and development best practices to continuously improve our digital offerings.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Demonstrable track record as a WordPress Developer.
- Proficiency in web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP.
- Experience with database management systems, preferably MySQL or MongoDB.
- A strong grasp of software development fundamentals and project management methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of specific WordPress plugins such as Gravity Forms, Advanced Custom Fields Pro, Akismet, and YOAST.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience with Alpine.js as documented at https://alpinejs.dev/.
- An understanding of Tailwind CSS, further information available at https://tailwindcss.com/docs/installation.
- Familiarity with Local app for streamlined local development – see https://localwp.com/.
- Experience with managed WordPress hosting solutions like WP Engine or Flywheel is beneficial.
