Bond Turner Congratulates Newly Qualified Solicitors

Bond Turner is pleased to announce that Rebecca Earl (Catastrophic Injuries) and Laurence Wright (Professional Negligence) have successfully completed their training positions to become fully qualified solicitors.

Having been supported through their recognised training while at Bond Turner, both team members have now undertaken new roles as solicitors in the firm within their respective departments.

Sara Stanger, Training Principal at Bond Turner, said:

“On behalf of everyone at Bond Turner we’d like to extend our congratulations to newly qualified solicitors Rebecca and Laurence. They have both excelled during their time here so far and will be a real asset to the firm going forward. Over the course of their training, they have demonstrated dedication to their work and have overcome every challenge with resilience and determination, particularly throughout the pandemic. Their hard work has paid off and they will certainly be a credit to the profession.”

Laurence Wright, Solicitor in Bond Turner’s Professional Negligence Team

“With the support of Bond Turner, my training position has recently come to an end, and I am proud to say that I have been admitted to the role of solicitors.

I initially took Law at A-level and found it intellectually challenging and went on to study at undergraduate level. After graduating in 2014, I began working in the legal sector, assisting with personal injury and industrial disease cases, before moving to defendant work. In 2017, I first began to focus on professional negligence, and completed my LPC and Masters in Law.

My early career experience provided great opportunities to work alongside colleagues with a wealth of knowledge, and to be exposed to some interesting and complex cases. It was then that I knew I wanted to qualify as a solicitor and make an impact in the industry.

In September 2019, I moved to the Professional Negligence team at Bond Turner before starting my training position the following year. I had exposure to various areas of the practice, including personal injury, credit hire work and, of course, professional negligence. There were milestones to reach, such as advocacy and public speaking, as well as attendance and exposure to many court hearings. There were regular meetings with the firm’s training principal, Sara Stanger, and a weekly diary to accurately record the progress made throughout the months of training.

I am incredibly proud of this achievement, and I am glad that many years of studying and hard work has paid off. The training principal, managers and directors at Bond Turner have all supported me in different ways. There has been a structure in place to assist and challenge me – key things every solicitor needs – with a clear path of progression that makes the transition from trainee to solicitor seamless.”

Rebecca Earl, Solicitor in Bond Turner’s Catastrophic Injuries (Personal Injury) Team

“I am incredibly pleased to have recently passed my period of recognised training to become a fully qualified solicitor within Bond Turner and look forward to embracing my role and furthering my learning within the Catastrophic Injuries team here in Liverpool.

The experience I gained during my training period has been invaluable and I have felt supported throughout. I was given the opportunity to assist in a wide range of complex and high value cases, which have included claims involving brain, spinal cord and significant musculoskeletal injuries. Working with the team to achieve justice for our clients has been incredibly rewarding. I was also afforded the opportunity to work in different departments, which provided me with further insight into the firm’s overall structure and services.

Upon embarking on my training position, I was not sure what to expect during the transition from trainee to fully qualified solicitor. Whilst it was an exciting period, I was conscious of the responsibilities that would come with a new role. However, I was eager to learn and ultimately knew that this was the career path for me. Now, having been acting as a solicitor for just over a month, I am pleased to say that the transition has been a smooth one. This is largely down to the support of my colleagues and the firm’s training principal, Sara Stanger.

Since gaining my qualification, I have continued to receive consistent support from my colleagues, and have been kept as busy as ever, which keeps me motivated. I am looking forward to my future at Bond Turner and can’t wait to see what the next steps in my legal career bring.”
